Alumni Mentorship Program

 

AUCA Alumni Mentorship Program was developed to bring together current students with alumni through informative friendships and to provide the participants with opportunities for professional development through sharing experience and knowledge.

 

 

Mentor Roles and Responsibilities

 

Mentors, participating in the AUCA Alumni Mentorship Program are required to:

  • Take participation in the short training;
  • Take the initiative for contacting their mentees and staying in touch with them during the period of the Mentorship Program (February - May 2020);
  • Devote time to the relationship and be available when requested;
  • Share your knowledge and experience to benefit your mentee;
  • Follow up on progress;
  • Maintain confidentiality of the information shared by the mentee.

  • Recognition of your valuable input to the by the American University of Central Asia
  • Job satisfaction from seeing others develop;
  • Heightened sense of purpose and belonging;
  • Learning and developing yourself from the process;

  • Networking opportunities;
  • Mentee may intern at Mentor’s company if agreed by the Parties.

 

 

Mentee Roles and Responsibilities

 

Mentees, participating in the AUCA Alumni Mentorship Program are required to::

  • Devote time to the mentoring relationship and interacting often with the mentor;
  • Take full advantage of opportunities provided by the mentor;
  • Keep the mentor informed of academic progress, successes, challenges and other concerns;
  • Exchange ideas and experiences with the mentor;
  • Seek assistance and support as defined on the Mentoring Goals Form.

 

The benefits for Mentees:

  • Increased self-confidence and motivation;
  • Support and challenge in formulating a clear sense of personal direction;
  • Understanding of the formal culture of organizations;
  • An opportunity to develop necessary career skills by observing Mentors;
  • A source of knowledge and experience to tap into;
  • An opportunity to think about things in a different way;
  • Mentee may intern at Mentor’s company if agreed by the Parties.
