Activity 5

Hero Mothers, Hero Kids

Observe and take part in a workshop for parents - and in particular single mothers - who are seeking alimony support for their children, led by partner organization For Families Public Foundation. In addition to learning about how alimony works and how to calculate it, students will be encouraged to think about the role of law and family support policies in family life.

This activity advances the UN Sustainable Development Goals #5 and #16. You can learn more about each of these below.

The activity will be held in Russian.

About the organization leading this session:

For Families Public Foundation was founded in 2018 to empower the people of the Kyrgyz Republic to build meaningful, supportive, and loving family relationships based on the principles of well-being, respect, and equality. For Families strives to reach these goals through inter-linked programs that combine legal empowerment and social change, recognizing that progress comes not only from the halls of Parliament but also from within each individual, family, and community. You can learn more at www.forfamilieskg.org or by joining us on Facebook at @ForFamiliesKG.
