Daniyar Karabaev is the Chair and an Assistant Professor in the Liberal Arts and Sciences department at the American University of Central Asia. Daniyar is currently pursuing his postgraduate degree at Kyrgyz National University. He earned his Master of Arts degree in International Area Studies from the University of Tsukuba (2011, Japan), a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from OSCE Academy (2009, Kyrgyzstan), and a specialized degree with distinction in Linguistics from Khorog State University (2007, Tajikistan).
Daniyar joined AUCA in 2012 as a Coordinator and Instructor in the Liberal Arts and Sciences and non-degree General Education departments. He was appointed as the Chair of the LAS department in 2014 and serves as an Executive Committee member of the Faculty Senate. He is involved in various projects that explore the themes of digital pedagogy, digital Manas studies, education and politics of Central Asia, oral history practices, and the role of language and education in post-Soviet states, particularly focusing on how educational practices and policies impact social and political development in Central Asia.
