The 5th Virtual Discussion between AUN-AUCA students
The 5th Annual Interuniversity Virtual Discussion devoted to Traditional Practices that Should Be Abolished was held on December 4th, 2021 between the American University of Nigeria (AUN) and the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) students within the framework of a Civic Engagement Project called Crossing Borders Through Social Media and Dialogue initiated by Ekaterina Galimova (AUCA) and Emilienne Akpan (AUN) in 2019.

US Embassy researcher Ryan Schmedding: "The air over Bishkek is slowly but improving"
On December 2, a guest lecture by Ryan Schmedding, a researcher at the US Embassy, was held in an online format, organized by the AUCA Center for Environmental Studies and Development (CED), the Alliance of Universities of the Kyrgyz Republic for Green Economy and Sustainable Development (AVZUR) together with the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Guest Lecture with Jennifer Tasker
On Thursday, December 2nd, Jennifer Tasker, the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy held a guest lecture in the AUCA within an OSUN Global Citizenship course which is taught by Bermet Tursunkulova, the Director of Development office.

AUCA is also an educational institution and we are at our best when we meet each other on-campus and in person, when we can exchange ideas unmediated via zoom and other devices.

Seismic Hazards Training Course at AUCA
On November 3rd, students and faculty of the Applied Geology department joined the Kyrgyz Seismic Hazard Seminar taught by Prof. Ray Weldon from Oregon State University (OSU). The workshop is organized as part of a Central Asia University Partnerships Program (UniCEN) program that provides grants for universities in Central Asia.

CASI Literature Week: “Writing Central Asia in Russian: Language, Place, and Displacement in Post-Soviet Rusosphone Literature”, Dec 2, 17:00
Literature Week is a part of CASI’s Workshop on Literature and History. Supported by a generous contribution from Matthew Nimetz, the aim of the workshop is to create a community of junior scholars and advanced graduate students committed to studying literature and to applying literary tools and methodologies to the study of literary art in the Central Asian past.
