On Thursday, February 21 AUCA Administration met with Jeffrey Ridenour, Information Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, Cori Bickel, Cultural Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyz Republic,  Sean Callaghan, Director of Program Development, and Lydia Hamilton, Program Officer of the global leadership organization to discuss the collaboration possibilities.

AUCA students from the C5+1 Youth Council (YC) and students from the journalism department engaged in a discussion with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells and U.S. Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Donald Lu.

On March 1, the Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) of the Kyrgyz Republic held public hearings on the draft law “Taza Aba” (“Clean Air”). The deputies, as well as the ministries, wanted to know the opinion of experts on the situation with polluted air in Kyrgyzstan and Bishkek before proceeding with the drafting of a law to combat air pollution.
