UiT The Arctic University of Norway is the northernmost university of the world. Its location on the edge of the Arctic implies a mission. The Arctic is of increasing global importance. Climate change, the exploitation of Arctic resources and environmental threats are topics of great public concern, and which the University of Tromsø takes special interest in. At UiT The Arctic University of Norway you can explore global issues from a close-up perspective. 

Centre for Peace Studies (CPS) at UIT - The Arctic University of Norway and American University of Central Asia (AUCA) have longstanding and very fruitful experiences with mutual exchange and project cooperation.

The Erasmus scholarship per exchange student will include:

  • a monthly grant payment 
  • a travel grant

Requirements for the Exchange Program Applicants:

1. You should be a full time sophomore or junior student at AUCA for bachelors; the first year of MA students

2. You must be nominated by AUCA

3. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0

4. Exchange students should be proficient in English to follow courses successfully and complete coursework (minimum IBT TOEFL score 80 or above or IELTS 6.5 or above).

5. Should be in good financial standing

 

Application Process

All students, willing to apply for exchange programs, must do so through http://abroad.auca.kg/.

The system will require students to login through AUCA account only. The recommendation letters are now must be filled in by AUCA professors only using a form within the electronic system. The AUCA students have to send a link to professors' AUCA emails, who will fill in a recommendation form for a student.

The application will require students to upload/complete the following documents by Monday 5 PM on February 12, 2024. After the deadline, the system will be closed automatically, and students will not be able to complete the application.

I. Statement of purpose, explaining why you want to study UiT, how it will benefit your studies at AUCA, and what you hope to achieve through this experience.

II. Transcript (non-official can be uploaded, too)

III. 2 (two) Recommendation forms from Professors (online submission). Deadline is the same as for online application.

V. Study Plan for the semester
