VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering means giving your time and energy to a cause or project without getting paid. It’s a powerful way to make a difference, gain experience, and discover what matters to you. You might be volunteering when you:

  • participate in a Civic Engagement project;
  • organize campus events;
  • manage social media for a non-profit organization;
  • join service clubs (Enactus, Green Club, etc.).

Through volunteering, you gain experience (teamwork, leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving), meet new people, find your interests, meaningfully contribute, and strengthen your CV—volunteering roles show initiative, social responsibility, and hands-on experience, especially when you don’t yet have much formal work history.

To start with volunteering, you could ask around for opportunities, check emails from the Career Development Center (career@auca.kg), or head to the annual AUCA Career Fair.
