November 15-17, 2024, she participated in the OSUN Afghan Students Conference, which led to her subsequent participation in all of the OSUN Alumni Speaker Series since, totaling seven workshops. She plans to attend the next workshops as well.

The next one will be held on February 23, 2025. On February 22, 2025, she will attend the Qatar Connection Webinar—The Art of Creating and Capturing Value Out of You.

She also plans to attend the AAPI Rising: Identity, Resilience, & Leadership Summit 2025, held on April 21st at the University of Minnesota, apply for the Tent Mentorship Program, which provides mentorship and partnership opportunities for immigrants, and volunteer for a social project for Afghan new arrivals to the state of Minnesota, titled Role of Credit Score and Employment in Renting Application Process for Afghan New Arrivals in MN, working on it as a potential project proposal for SIDP, pending approval from all parties involved.

Personally, she has been practicing and learning drawing, free writing, chess, and Russian. She is keen to join any language, art, writing, reading, debate, chess, or board game clubs at AUCA that offer online sessions. Many clubs, such as board games and art therapy, unfortunately only offer offline options.

While prioritizing her GPA and health, she plans to focus on joining online summits, workshops, sessions, mentorships, and internships this semester as well.

Aktan Zhakypbekov

Bard College Berlin

Participating in the OSUN Mobility program at Bard College Berlin has been an enriching and adventurous experience for him. As part of the program, he has been able to accomplish his academic, professional, and personal objectives and much more. Initially, BCB attracted him with its rigorous curriculum in political economy courses. Taking "Intro to Finance for Social Science" and "Globalization and Industrial Policy" courses provided him with tools and substantive knowledge to discuss processes at the intersection of economy and politics. These courses also informed and inspired his aspirations to study the topic further in his master’s studies. Beyond that, he took the opportunity to explore European politics by enrolling in the "What is Europe?" course. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the course offered practical experience through a study trip to Brussels and Luxembourg, where he had the chance to speak with experts in EU institutions and industry lobby companies deeply involved in EU politics. Most importantly, he made numerous friends and connections and had the opportunity to immerse himself in the politically and socially vibrant Berlin youth community. After such an experience, he can certainly echo the words of a famous Berliner, "Ich bin ein Berliner."

Anushervon Nurmamadov

ICP-122

Throughout his time at AUCA, he has actively participated in various extracurricular and leadership activities that have significantly contributed to his academic and professional development. He served as the temporary President of the AUCA Student Senate from May 2024 until the formation of the new Senate, following the graduation of the previous president. During this time, he, along with some of his colleagues, took the initiative to introduce early course selection for seniors, ensuring they had the opportunity to register before the general student body. Prior to his presidency, he held the position of Head of the Financial Committee, where he was responsible for managing the budget and financial planning for student-led initiatives. He is currently the Head of the Education Policy Committee, focusing on enhancing academic affairs and advocating for policies that improve the student learning experience. Additionally, he represents the Student Senate in the SILC Office, serving as a liaison between the student body and the administration.

In addition to his role in the Student Senate, he is the President of the Unity Club, an organization dedicated to fostering intellectual and extracurricular engagement among students. The club organizes a variety of activities, including debates, chess, and sports tournaments such as football, volleyball, and basketball. Their mission is to promote unity and collaboration, and he had the honor of leading the "Roof of the World" delegation, which embodied the values of the Unity Club. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, their delegation was unable to participate in the event this year, but the experience from last year remains a significant achievement.

He has also engaged in several academic and international exchange programs. He participated in the Virtual Exchange project, a collaboration between the Language Centre at AUCA, the University of Warwick, and AUCA students. This project allowed him to engage in enriching discussions and cultural exchanges with students from various international backgrounds. Furthermore, he applied for an exchange program at ESPOL Catholic University and was selected. Unfortunately, due to a visa refusal by the French Embassy, he was unable to attend, which was disappointing, but the process itself was an enriching experience.

Professionally, he has completed two internships that have provided him with valuable hands-on experience. He interned with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), where he worked on community development initiatives and program evaluation. Additionally, he interned at Pamir Energy, where he contributed to both the Human Resources and Monitoring & Evaluation departments. These experiences allowed him to apply his academic knowledge in real-world settings while developing practical skills in project management, policy analysis, and community engagement.
