The Student Intellectual Life Committee (SILC) supports student-initiated projects, professional development opportunities, and student research. It awards small grants every month to AUCA students. Gulnora Iskandarova, a senior student of Anthropology department, told us about her SILC experience.

AUCA invites all interested high school students in 10th or 11th grade to participate in our annual spring Math Competition organized by the division of science. The Math Competition will be held at 10:00 AM on April 24, 2016.

On April 23, 2016, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) will be holding a Career Fair open to the community. Gulnur Esenalieva, the director of AUCA’s Career Center spoke to us about the value of career fairs and why students should be excited to attend.

Kala Brubaker, an exchange student at AUCA from Ferrum College, USA, studies English Literature and English Pre-Professional Writing. Kala tells us about her life at AUCA and why she chose to study in Kyrgyzstan.

This presentation analyzes women’s empowerment as a practice and as an everyday reality for rural population in the Kyrgyz Republic. Researchers explore ethnographically opportunities and challenges to actions aimed to bringing sustained positive changes to rural populations.

Gulnaza Khalmanbetova, from the Business Administration department (BA-113) at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), is currently studying at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. Gulnaza shares with us her experiences and anecdotes from her South Korean exchange program.

April 5, 2016, a group of representatives of Polish universities and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education met with chair of the psychology department Elena Kim, international student coordinator Iliyas Mamadiyarov, and coordinator of academic affairs Nazgul Koilubaeva to discuss potential academic collaboration and the development of exchange programs between Polish universities and AUCA.

The MBA (Master of Business Administration) is the only professional qualified internationally recognized degree in business administration. The MBA program itself offers in-depth knowledge of business management, consulting and professional development.

Jeff Potts, an exchange student from Colgate University in New York, USA, is currently studying Environmental Management and Sustainable Development at AUCA. Jeff is originally from Pennsylvania, USA. He talks to us about why international students should apply for AUCA’s exchange program.
