Professor Bakyt Urmambetov is a Professor in the Applied Mathematics and Informatics department at the American University of Central Asia. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Kazakh State University (1993, Kazakhstan) and holds a specialized degree in Mathematics from the Lomonosov Moscow State University (1983, Russia).
Professor Urmambetov joined AUCA in 2001 as an Associate Professor in the Natural Sciences and Information Technologies department. He became a Professor at the Applied Mathematics and Informatics department in 2010. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Indiana University Bloomington (2001, USA), a visiting Tempus Scholar in Mathematics in Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Grenoble (1997, France), and a visiting scholar at the University of Washington through ACCELS (1996, USA).
