Baktyiar Asanov is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science department at the American University of Central Asia. He holds a postgraduate degree (Aspirantura) from the Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (2023, Kyrgyzstan), a Master of Sciences in Chemistry and Chemical Technology from Kyrgyz State National University (2013, Kyrgyzstan), and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Chemical Technology from Kyrgyz State National University (2011, Kyrgyzstan). 

Baktyiar joined AUCA in 2015 and holds the position of Head of the Geo-Eco Laboratory. He participated in many local and international conferences, including the Water Resources Management and Treatment Technologies Summer School at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (2017, Norway), the Water Management in Cold Climates Summer School at the University of Centre in Svalbard (2017, Norway). He is a fellow of the  US Department of State’s premier professional exchange program - the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) “US Approaches to Climate Chnage” (2022, USA).
