Jannat Kovalchuk is an Assistant Professor in the International and Business Law department at the American University of Central Asia. She is the Director of AUCA Legal Clinic. She holds an Associate in Science degree in Criminal Justice from American River College (2016, USA) and a JD in Law from Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz State National University (1998, Kyrgyzstan). 

Jannat Kovalchuk joined AUCA in 2018 as an Assistant Professor and teaches Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure courses, Combating violence against women (OSUN). She served as a part-time parliamentarian expert at the Institute of Youth Development (2020) and an expert on the OSCE Project in collaboration with “Civic Platform” Public Foundation (2020). Jannat has had more than 10 years of experience as a corporate lawyer and has a license of a lawyer from Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic (2005).

Her research interest is applied in area of law on combating violence against women, domestic violence. In summer 2024 Jannat initiated the project on assisting survivors of domestic violence in municipal crisis shelter Ayalzat with free legal, psychological and counseling services with conjunction of Psychology department of AUCA (Elena Kosterina).
