Goals and Learning Outcomes
Peace and Conflict Studies Concentration has the following objectives:
- to provide the basic theories and concepts in peace and conflict studies;
- to train analytical skills and techniques to prevent, reduce and resolve intergroup and interpersonal conflicts;
- to teach methods of social research to discover cultural, social and political forces behind conflicts;
- to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills in peace and conflict studies in daily life.
Peace and Conflict Studies Concentration will result in the following learning outcomes:
- to understand the nature, stages and manifestations of conflicts;
- to master analytical skills and techniques in conflict resolution and peace building;
- to know the methods of social research to understand the context of conflicts;
- to be able to apply analytical skills and experience received in peace building and conflict resolution in the future professional career.
