TSPC Completes 3rd Environmental Camp for AUCA Students in Chychkan Gorge!

From August 21 to 25, 2023, the Tian-Shan Policy Center held its third summer camp, focusing on "Sustainable Natural Resource Management and GIS in Chychkan."

The event aimed to raise awareness about preserving the Chychkan Gorge ecosystem and managing natural resources sustainably.

The camp was organized by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) project in Kyrgyzstan, focusing on sustainable rangeland management in Chychkan and Suusamyr. The CEPF project, implemented by the American University of Central Asia, aims to support and conserve biodiversity in the Suusamyr Valley and address threats associated with unsustainable livestock grazing.

Students, teachers and experts participated in hands-on activities, including water sampling, GPS use, and drone operation. The knowledge gained will contribute to students' term papers and theses. This initiative supports sustainable rangeland management and biodiversity conservation in Kyrgyzstan.
