On September 23, the Department of Anthropology and International Development at AUCA hosted an insightful presentation by Kanat Sultanaliev, Executive Director of the Tien Shan Analytical Center, on “Policy Brief: Practices and Approaches in the Context of Kyrgyzstan.

  From August 21 to 25, 2023, the Tian-Shan Policy Center held its third summer camp, focusing on "Sustainable Natural Resource Management and GIS in Chychkan."    The event aimed to raise awareness about preserving the Chychkan Gorge ecosystem and managing natural resources sustainably.

From August 21st to 25th, 2023, the Tian-Shan Policy Center organized a summer environmental camp for students "Sustainable Natural Resource Management and GIS in Chychkan." The objectives of the event were to raise students' awareness about the importance of preserving the Chychkan Gorge ecosystem and conducting research on the use of natural resources in this unique complex.

In Bishkek, the project "Promoting Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Sector of Kyrgyzstan" held its final forum, “Sustainable Tourism in Kyrgyzstan: key findings of the PERETO project.”
The forum’s goal was to summarize the four years of work of the PERETO project, discuss the achieved results, and review future strategies for energy and resource efficiency in Kyrgyzstan's tourism sector.

 
July 5th marks the successful conclusion of this year's three-day Summer Workshop on Policy Labs in Issyk-Kul, organized by the Tian Shan Policy Center under the "Learning by Doing: Policy Labs and Civic Engagement" program.

"Promoting Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Industry of Kyrgyzstan" (PERETO) project is being implemented by the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in consortium with partner organizations: UNISON Group (Kyrgyzstan), Technopolis Group (Belgium), Collaborating Center on Sustainable Consumption and Production - СSCP (Germany).

Today marks the successful conclusion of this year's three-day Summer Workshop on Policy Labs, organized by the Tian Shan Policy Center under the "Learning by Doing: Policy Labs and Civic Engagement" program. This workshop continued our mission of connecting academic policy research curriculums with organizations, practitioners, and policy makers committed to addressing global challenges of sustainable and peaceful development.
 

Integrating Energy and Resource Efficiency into Kyrgyzstan's Tourism Education Curriculum
The "Promoting Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Industry of Kyrgyzstan" (PERETO) project is being implemented by the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in consortium with partner organizations: UNISON Group (Kyrgyzstan), Technopolis Group (Belgium), and Collaborating Center on Sustainable Consumption and Production—СSCP (Germany).

On May 6 and 7, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) hosted Pavel Kiparisov, a Ph.D. candidate at the Central European University (CEU), for an enlightening workshop on geospatial sciences. Organized as part of OSUN's GeoHub project, the workshop, titled "Mapping for Policy Change: A Beginner's Guide to ArcGIS”" was well attended by both AUCA and TSI faculty and students.
