Duration: 3 semesters from 2012 to 2013

Class Information:
The class introduced students to the technologies and techniques of web programming where students learned how to develop interactive web pages. The students learned programming for both client-side and server-side technologies. This included basic web technologies (HTML5, CSS), client-side technologies (JavaScript, AJAX), and server-side technologies (PHP, MySQL).
Teaching Methodology: Tony used a new LMS called Class2Go in which he operated as an online class online, but in a blended-learning format. His lectures were recorded using voice-over PowerPoint and the students watched them prior to coming to class. Instead of lecturing during class, they looked at code examples and demonstrations. The class was largely project based with a focus on doing, rather than knowing. The final or cumulative project was a complete web application and included a user interface using HTML5 and CSS, seamless user interaction with JavaScript and AJAX, and PHP as the server side code that interacted with a data source.
