Minor in European Studies in Second language
The European Studies department offers to non ES students an opportunity to obtain a minor degree in European Studies in Second Language (French or German or Italian or Spanish). In order to start studying for minor in ES, a student must obtain permission from the chair of his/her department and the chair of ES department.
To apply for minor, students must have GPA 2.7 or higher.
To earn the Minor degree in ES, students must complete at least 45 credits from the Second Language component of the European Studies department. Thereby, 60% of course credits must be taken from the upper level courses. Only the courses with a grade “B-” or higher will be counted towards the fulfillment of minor requirements.
To obtain the degree in ES Second Language as a minor students must take a minimum 18 credits in the second language (French or German or Spanish) and demonstrate the level B2 or higher which corresponds to the Europass Language Passport http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/documents/european-skills-passport/language-passport. Official certificates (DELF/DALF, DAF. ELE, CILS) are acceptable.
24 credits must be taken from 300 or 400 level elective courses in second language
