AUCA launches cooperation with UN DRR
The “Climate Change and Resilience in Central Asia” webinar hosted by AUCA and UN Disaster Risk Reduction Istanbul Research Hub on January 28th is the first event organized by the institutions to activate knowledge exchange between academia and development practitioners in the area of climate change and disaster risk reduction. The specialists from UNDP, AUCA and KRSU covered the topics about the effects of climate change on water resources, urban habitat, poor countries and general population. All participants resoundingly call for immediate actions as we are directed toward ecological and social crisis. The natural disasters is a global problem that first off impacts the economically vulnerable population pushing people further into poverty. We must tackle the problem on all levels to increase the resilience of the planet to climate change, the participants concluded.
We look forward to further cooperation with our UNDP colleagues to continue our efforts in addressing global challenges.
