Today we want to introduce you to Frank G. Karioris, an Assistant Professor in Sociology and General Education. Professor Karioris has a PhD in Comparative Gender Studies with a Specialization in Sociology & Social Anthropology, an MA in Social Development, and a BA in History and Education.

On September 13-15, 2016 Doris Jones, a visiting scholar from the American University in Cairo (AUC) Department of Rhetoric and Composition, held workshops for AUCA faculty.

This past weekend AUCA's newest club, the AUCA Outdoor Club, had its first ever expedition – and what an expedition it was!
Lead by two of this summer’s Eco Leadership Program (ELP) Alumni, students from the AUCA Outdoor Club attended the Trekking Union of Kyrgyzstan’s annual ‘Meeting of the Tourists’ in Kegeti Gorge to show off their Outdoor Skills and compete in trekking and camping competitions against students from four other Bishkek Universities.

 Sezim Altynbek kyzy, a junior in the Journalism and Mass Communications department (JMC) at AUCA, told us about her work in AUCA TV, internship in Public Relations (PR) office at AUCA, and Global UGRAD Program.

Malika Kanatbek kyzy is a junior in the Journalism and Mass Communications Department (JMC) at AUCA. She had an internship at the US Embassy in Bishkek, participated in the Youth for Human Rights International Summit (YHRI) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, and started her exchange semester at Bard College in the US. Malika shared her thoughts and experience with us.
 

On September 19, 2016, the USAID Business Growth Initiative (BGI) project met with student volunteers who conducted a survey at the World Nomad Games to congratulate them on their initiative and hard work.

On September 15th, 2016, Dan Hamilton, a public affairs associate from the American College of Surgeons visited the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) to lead an interactive conversation with students from the department of Journalism and Mass Communication.

AUCA’s Spirit Week began last Monday, September 14th, 2016. Throughout last week, students dressed up for different themed days and participated in competitions.
