Shoira Temurova, a sophomore student at the International and Comparative Politics department, shares her experience with the OSCE’s Programs:
 
I am Shoira, originally from Tajikistan, and currently a sophomore at AUCA majoring in International and Comparative Politics.

In this interview, Srdjan Uljevic, Assistant Professor at the AUCA GenEd Faculty , shares his perspective on the importance of building a strong academic foundation before pursuing studies abroad. Drawing on his interdisciplinary teaching experience, he discusses the challenges students often face when moving overseas immediately after high school and emphasizes the value of completing undergraduate education in a familiar cultural and social environment.

The most anticipated event of the week the Final Gala Concert traditionally brought the AUCA community together on Friday evening. The AUCA Forum was filled with students, faculty, staff, friends, and families who gathered to celebrate cultural diversity and witness the culmination of a week full of meaningful exchange and collaboration.

From January 12 to 16, 2026, the AUCA organized a series of webinars as part of the annual Scholarly Communication Week.  This year’s theme, “Scholarly Communication in the AI Era,” focused on the ongoing transformations in the field in the context of artificial intelligence development and brought together over 300 participants from various universities across the country.

Jonathan Becker, Member of the AUCA Board of Trustees and former President of AUCA, together with Zarlasht Sarmast, has published an article exploring the growing role of displaced and refugee students in international higher education.

Join the International Open Access Week this October. This year’s theme is “Who owns our knowledge?”.

  Bard College Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Politics, former AUCA President Jonathan Becker, and AUCA Graduate Zarlasht Sarmast, Civic Engagement Network Coordinator for Bard and the Global Higher Education Alliance for the 21st Century (GHEA21), published an article this week which reframes forcibly displaced and refugee students as important potential civic actors.
