Ruslan Rahimov, an AUCA faculty member, associate professor, and candidate of historical sciences with a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS - France), recently embarked on a research trip to Mexico.

On March 4th, 2016, AUCA President Andrew Wachtel received an Honorary Professorship from the Kyrgyz National University. Memorandum of cooperation between universities signed.

Associate Professor of Philosophy Duane Lacey currently teaches in the FYS Division. In the near future, he will also be teaching in the new L.L.M. Graduate Program. On December 15, 2015 AUCA Alumna Guzyal Hill held the lecture “How to Get a PhD in Australia” for AUCA students, faculty, and alumni. Hill is a lawyer and a PhD student researching the harmonization of federal legislation at Charles Darwin University, Darwin, Australia.

Nuriza Begalieva, a Senior in the European Studies department, spent an exchange semester this spring at Sciences Po, Reims, in France. There she studied the politics of France and the European Union while also improving her French.

On December 5th, 2015, AUCA’s business consulting group supported by USAID and the AUCA Career Center will be holding the “STUDENT FOCUS” forum intended for student entrepreneurship.

On October 29, 2015, 26 students from the Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (EMSD) program conducted field research to count radiation in the AUCA campus area. Vanessa Graf, one of the students on the trip, tells us about her experience.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Austria, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan from October 28 to November 3. In Bishkek, the Secretary will participate in the opening of the new campus of the American University of Central Asia and dedicate the new chancery of the U.S. Embassy.
