Empathy Lab in Bishkek
On November 14, the classrooms of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) turned into an unusual “laboratory” — the No Hate Lab. Instead of boring lectures, the program featured social experiments: the hosts launched an “empathy system,” a stand-up comedian shared personal stories, and participants immersed themselves in the world of TikTok challenges and meme battles.

Anthropology club: Guest Lecture on Tourism in Central Asia
Today we held a meeting with Professor Kenichi Ohashi from the Department of Culture and Tourism Studies at Rikkyo University, one of Japan’s top private universities. Currently, he is studying tourism mobilities in Eurasia, focusing on Russian-speaking tourism in Vietnam.

ICP Public Lectures Series: Sovereignty with Chinese Characteristics: Historical Roots of Contemporary Foreign Policy
On September 26, the ICP Department of AUCA organized a lecture featuring Dr. Maria Adele Carrai, Assistant Professor of Global China Studies at NYU Shanghai. Dr. Carrai’s research focuses on the history of international law in East Asia, and she was invited to share her insights with AUCA community.

ICP Ambassador Talks: H.E. Nicholas Bowler, the British Ambassador to the KR
On September 25, the AUCA Makerspace CH hosted another session of the ICP Ambassador Talks series, featuring H.E. Nicholas Bowler, the British Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic.   Ambassador Bowler delivered an engaging lecture on the concept of soft power and its continuing importance in international relations.
