On 6-7 March 2012, the Central Asian Studies Institute at the American University of Central Asia will host an academic workshop entitled “Interpreting the Soviet Cultural Legacy in Central Asia”. On 22 February, Piotr Dutkiewicz, Director of the Centre for Governance and Public Management Carleton University, Ottawa Canada presented the issue “Governance in a Multiethnic State”. 

The Tian Shan Policy Center organized a conference and roundtable on 'Rethinking Water and Land Management Strategies to Protect Kyrgyz Communities and Livelihoods' to facilitate dialogue among scholars and experts on advancing environmental sustainability and climate adaptation in Kyrgyzstan.  Participants included members of government, international organizations, NGOs, researchers, scholars and students.
