AUCA Hosts Annual Ambassador Talks Series with the Ambassador of France
On October 7, 2026, the International and Comparative Politics program at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) convened its annual Ambassador Talks Series, entitled “How France and Kyrgyzstan Can Cooperate at the Multilateral Level to Make the World More Peaceful and Sustainable.

 
 

 
Dr. Mirko Tasic, Associate Professor in the International and Comparative Politics Department at the American University of Central Asia, has published a new essay in The Philosophical Salon, the digital platform affiliated with the Los Angeles Review of Books.

 

 
On September 24, 2026, the American University of Central Asia hosted Dr. Zhanibek Arynov, Assistant Professor at Nazarbayev University, for a presentation titled “Tracing Central Asian Regionalism through High-Level Political Interactions.

  Dr. Mirko Tasic, Associate Professor in the Department of International and Comparative Politics at the American University of Central Asia, recently completed his role as an international judge for The Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA) 2026 Programme in the Politics & International Relations category.

      On April 29th, the International and Comparative Politics Department hosted its Public Lecture Series with Dr. Ruslan Rakhimov, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Kyrgyzstan, for a talk on training diplomats between national priorities and global demands.

    President of American University of Central Asia, Timothy O'Connor welcomed Japanese Ambassador H.E. Ryuichi Hirano to campus on April 24, as part of AUCA's ongoing Ambassador Talks series aloong with International and Comparative Department — a platform that has brought senior diplomats and international figures to the university for open dialogue with students and faculty.

The department of International and Comparative Politics continued its Ambassador Talks Series and welcomed a distinguished guest on 22 April, as President O’Connor introduced H.E. the Turkish Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem for an engaging session on Turkish foreign policy — examining both its theoretical foundations and real-world practice.
