Call for Panels - Borderland Spaces: Ruins, Revival(s) and Resources
Dear faculty and students, for the upcoming 6th Asian Borderlands conference in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), we invite panels and papers that address the following questions: How are borderlands in Asia creating alternative spaces for heritages, self-definition and the extraction of resources? How can these cases serve to rethink social theories of various kind? We look forward to receiving proposals before 2 October 2017.

A one-time scholarship for students with disabilities
With the support of the “Siloam” (Republic of Korea) center for blind people,  "Равные возможности (Equal Opportunity)" social center in Bishkek selects students with disabilities to award a one-time scholarship equivalent to 300 (three hundred) US dollars.

Fundraising for our professor Mohira Suyarkulova!
Early in the morning on August 26, a "Lexus" crashed into a taxi with Mohira inside. Mohira and the taxi driver are now in serious condition in the intensive care unit of the Bishkek Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics.
