“My name is Natalia Mamasheva and I teach French at AUCA. I graduated from the Foreign Languages Department at Kyrgyz State University (now Balasagyn Kyrgyz State National University). I worked as an instructor and then as an assistant professor, teaching French at the Foreign Languages Department, KSU. Later, in 1999, I was invited to work at AUCA by Sharshekeeva Kamila. I am still very grateful for the offer she has made.
While French Studies program was active in AUCA, I had 3 lecture courses and taught French classes. Presently, I teach French as a second language at the Modern Languages Department.
In 1970, while I was a student, I had a two-month internship in France (in Dijon and Paris). In 1996, as an instructor, I had a two-month faculty development trip to Besancon and Paris. In 1998, I attended a three-week course at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Starting with 1993, French Embassy has been organizing annual professional development seminars conducted by high-qualified professionals. I participated in every seminar. They helped me develop as a professional and keep me informed of all innovations in teaching methods.
AUCA is advanced in many ways: it is technically well-equipped, and the faculty has everything we need to be productive. Many things that we take for granted are a dream for the faculty in other universities. I love working at AUCA because we have motivated students, who want to achieve, and work hard to make their dreams possible.
Of course, not every student is a high achiever, and yet everybody works hard. Students are very motivated. Most of them strive to study abroad. I also like the way we treat university property, and I totally share the Academic Honesty principle.
In order to be a student of AUCA, you need to be motivated and work for your grades instead of buying them, learn independent decision-making, and do everything you can to be a high-qualified professional.”
