Alumni Reunion 2013

The sun shone brightly in Bishkek as the AUCA Alumni and PR Office welcomed back over 120 alumni to the 2013 Annual Alumni Reunion on Saturday 18 May.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful buffet at Jannat Hotel. The alumni relations coordinator was delighted to welcome back Maksim Poletaev, who entertained guests and added to the fun atmosphere of the evening.

AUCA President Andrew Wachtel delivered an energetic speech. We were also delighted to have 1999 alumna Aijan Chynybaeva as guest speaker, who shared stories of her AUCA experience which struck a chord with many other guests in the room. The James Emison Alumni Award was given to Ruslan Akun by Alumni Council Member Asel Akmatova in recognition of his contribution to the mission of the university to develop leaders for the transformation of the region. Unfortunately Ruslan wasn’t able to attend the event, so the award was taken by his friend, our alumnus Marlis Esenakunov.

The Alumni Reunion was brightened up by excellent performance of our famous alumnus Nurbek Savitahunov, and the finalist of the New Wave 2013 International contest Aibek Baktybekov and Nurbakyt Razakov.
