AUCA Faculty Serves as International Judge for the 2026 Global Undergraduate Awards
October 5, 2026

Dr. Mirko Tasic, Associate Professor in the Department of International and Comparative Politics at the American University of Central Asia, recently completed his role as an international judge for The Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA) 2026 Programme in the Politics & International Relations category.
The Global Undergraduate Awards is a prestigious international academic awards programme that recognizes originality, innovation, and research excellence at the undergraduate level. Connecting leading scholars worldwide, the GUA judging process rigorously assesses top-tier student submissions to identify outstanding global research across diverse disciplines.
Reflecting on his experience reviewing international submissions for this year’s awards, Dr. Tasic noted the rigorous standard of global scholarship and how it puts AUCA’s own academic environment into perspective.
“Assessing top undergraduate research from institutions across the globe through the GUA programme provided a valuable opportunity to benchmark student scholarship,” said Dr. Tasic. “Having evaluated these global submissions, it is truly inspiring to see that the quality, analytical depth, and originality of research produced by our own students at AUCA stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the very best in the world. Our students regularly demonstrate a caliber of critical inquiry and thesis work that easily meets—and often surpasses—the highest global academic standards.”
