Qarash Lab: A Creative Platform for Emerging Kyrgyz Filmmakers From November 15 to 18, the third season of Qarash Lab took place in Kyrgyzstan — an independent film laboratory supported by the Cinematica cinema network. The initiative aims to create a space where directors, screenwriters, actors, and audiences can meet, exchange ideas, and inspire one another. This season featured workshops led by industry professionals, including Sultan UsuvAliyev, producer Alexey Ageev, and Georgian director Lado Kvataniya. Participants also attended film screenings of “Vselennaya Manasa: Ak Meër” by Melisa Usubekova and “Kazn” by Lado Kvataniya, followed by open discussions with the filmmakers. A special highlight of the program was a musical performance, an experimental experience in which Kyrgyz cinema “found its sound,” blending film and live music. Qarash Lab once again proved to be a dynamic and welcoming environment for young creatives, offering both professional growth and meaningful connections. The event underscored the growing energy of Kyrgyz cinema and the importance of platforms that support emerging talent.
