Anthropology Week: Manaschi Across Generations

Manaschis, “Manas” famous Kyrgyz epos tellers, visited AUCA in a framework of Anthropology Week.

 

Three manaschis, Zamira Kalender kyzy, Doolet Sadykov, and Nurbek Toloptbek uulu, the youngest one, had told some lines from “Manas” epos to AUCA students and faculty.

 

Doolot Sadykov is a famous manaschi nowadays; he is a person, who falls into a trance during his performances and he was an object of research in Moscow and Turkey.

 

Manaschis are also defined as phenomena among Kyrgyz nation, because they can tell almost whole huge epos without any source or book.

 

Manaschis – are history holders and a pride of Kyrgyz nation.
