On November 18th, the University of York Law School hosted the Sixth Global Day of Action for Climate Justice (GDA 6), bringing together law students and clinics worldwide to focus on the pressing issue of water in the context of the climate emergency.

Students from Miami to Melbourne and Delhi to Düsseldorf participated in various activities, including research, events, and community initiatives, to raise awareness and drive action on water-related challenges. This year’s theme highlighted the urgent need for stronger legal frameworks to protect water resources, address pollution, and ensure water security in the face of climate change.

At AUCA, the Legal Clinic joined the global movement by researching key topics in water law and hosting a presentation on November 18th. Students explored issues such as international water law, national water policies, and the role of legal frameworks in safeguarding water resources for future generations.

The event showcased the power of student-led legal action and collaboration across borders in tackling the global climate crisis.
