His Excellency, Mr. François Delahousse, graced the premises of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) with his presence, as introduced by the esteemed President, Dr. Timothy Edward O’Connor. In a gracious opening, President O'Connor warmly welcomed the distinguished ambassador, setting the stage for an engaging discourse.

Mr. Delahousse commenced his address by expressing gratitude for the gracious reception and reflected on the enduring camaraderie between the United States and France, tracing back to their historical alliance. He eloquently invoked the memory of the esteemed French American political activist Marquise de Lafayette, symbolizing the steadfast bond between the two nations. Moreover, he referenced the ephemeral renaming of French fries to "Freedom fries" during a diplomatic episode, underscoring the resilient spirit of Franco-American relations.

Transitioning seamlessly, His Excellency focused on the burgeoning ties between France and Kyrgyzstan. Notably, he highlighted the pivotal role of the French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan since its inception in July 2010, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations. Celebrating three decades of diplomatic rapport between France and the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Delahousse emphasized the imperative of fostering economic collaboration and cross-cultural exchange.

Central to his agenda is cultivating robust economic relations, focusing on bolstering bilateral trade and investment. Citing the landmark collaboration between French energy giant, EDF (Electricité de France), and Conceive in the construction of the HydroPowerPlant "Kambar-Ata 1," His Excellency underscored the transformative potential of such initiatives in enhancing economic prosperity.

Moreover, he underscored the involvement of French enterprises in diverse sectors such as renewable energy, aviation, tourism, and mountain economy, exemplifying the multifaceted nature of bilateral engagement. Noteworthy endeavors include the collaboration with renowned French companies for the development of ski resorts in Kyrgyzstan, drawing inspiration from the illustrious slopes of Courchevel.

In addition to economic diplomacy, Mr. Delahousse highlighted the significance of cultural exchange as a cornerstone of bilateral relations. From collaborative concerts to the burgeoning gaming industry, he emphasized the cultural vibrancy and economic potential inherent in such endeavors.

Concluding his address, His Excellency graciously fielded questions from the audience, giving students a unique opportunity to engage directly with the esteemed diplomat. Through his insightful remarks, Ambassador Delahousse reaffirmed the enduring friendship between France and Kyrgyzstan, paving the way for a future of collaboration and mutual prosperity.
