Case Study Training

November 22, 2023

On November 17, Case Center of AUCA Business School organized 2nd Case Study Training. Training was held by Dr. Anjan Ghosh, Assistant Professor at Graduate School of Business at Nazarbayev University and organized by AUCA Business School team: Bermet Talasbek kyzy, Strategic Development Officer, Saikal Anvar kyzy, Assistant Professor and Talant Asan uulu, Associate Professor.

Case Center of AUCA Business School is aimed at developing and implementing case studies in the learning process. Incorporating case studies into business programs is one of the most effective learning and teaching methods recommended by both local and international accreditations, as they provide students with problem-solving and analytical skills. Including case studies on local and regional companies further helps educators to give more relatable context in terms of geography, economics and business environment.

This training was designed for faculty members of Management and Business schools planning to design and develop own or collaborative teaching or research case studies. It welcomed participants from six(6) institutions: Kyrgyz Economic University, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Kyrgyz State Technical University, International Kuwait University, Compass College and AUCA. Dr. Anjan Ghosh explained about types of case studies researchers may select, subject to focus on, framework to build the case upon and strategy to publish in international journals.

AUCA team shared experience of writing and publishing first case studies from Kyrgyzstan on companies such as Shoro, Matkasym and ololo. This training is the initial step in collaborative cross-institutional case development and publication with an aim to develop a repository of case studies on Kyrgyz companies in Kyrgyz, English and Russian languages.
