Bilateral exchange agreement with the Political Science Department of the Universite Catholique de l’Ouest

The International and Comparative Politics (ICP) Department of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) is pleased to share the new opportunity of the bilateral exchange agreement with the Political Science Department of the Universite Catholique de l’Ouest (UCO) (https://www.uco.fr/fr) in Nantes, France. UCO was founded in 1875 in Angers (1 hour from Paris). Today, UCO has many campuses in the Western part of France and in overseas French territories as well, totaling 13,000 students. The Political Science Department is very dynamic, comprising 14 permanent professors, and has many ties with key decision-makers in France. Bachelor in Political Science is about to encompass 1,000 students overall through our three campuses. The Department also offers a wide array of courses in English.

The collaboration between AUCA and UCO started in 2023 and was initiated by Dr. Görkem Atsungur, Dr. Frederic Coste, and Dr. Brad Safarik. This partnership program includes opportunities for both teacher and student mobility, virtual exchanges, joint research activities, exchange of scientific and academic materials, joint and double diplomas, and joint publications.

We thank the Head of the International Student Office, Aselia Umetalieva, and International Partnership Coordinator, Bettina Bachmann, as well as the AUCA and UCO administrations’ support in making this partnership for both faculty and students.
