On Monday, December 12, the American University of Central Asia hosted a delegation led by the head of the department of higher and secondary vocational education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Naimanbaev Azamat Bagdatovich and vice rectors, heads of departments, and specialists from leading state and international universities of Kyrgyzstan.
The main purpose of the visit was to exchange experience and establish cooperation between universities in the field of organizing the educational process based on ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Nurgul Ukueva welcomed the guests and expressed hope for productive cooperation moving forward. Presentations started with Jibek Toichubekova, the Head of the Registrar Office, who explained how the credit and registration system works at the university, as well as how AUCA maintains balance between academic and extracurricular activities for its students. Among the representatives of AUCA were the Head of the Academic Advising Office, Head of the Writing and Academic Resources Center (WARC), Dean of Student Affairs, Director of the Library, and the specialist of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, who also made presentations about the all-around support they provide to its 1200 students.
Afterwards, AUCA staff conducted a campus tour, offering the guests an insight into its learning process and daily life.
