We invite everyone to an open guest lecture by U.S. Embassy air quality science fellow Ryan Schmedding “Air Quality: what can you do to combat air pollution?.

The issues that the speaker will touch upon are air quality in Bishkek and the cities of Kyrgyzstan, successful experience in combating smog in different countries of the world (USA, Europe, etc.). The speaker will also share the latest data on global air quality and the results of his research.

The event is organized by Center for Civic Engagement at AUCA together with the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Ryan Schmedding, U.S. Embassy air quality science fellow, is:

  • 4th year PhD student in Atmospheric Science at McGill University studying the interactions between air pollution, weather, and climate change
  • Currently helping with experiments in Zurich, Switzerland
  • Master of Science in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Science from UNC Chapel Hill
