On November 5, 2022, the American University of Central Asia hosted an exciting Autumn Festival of Creative Industries. This is the second festival of #CREATE4 this year, the main aim was to launch a sustainable dialogue platform for key stakeholders in the creative industries and promote the branding of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. More than a thousand participants were able to attend special master classes and gain new knowledge about the creative industries.
The event started off with a beautiful speech by Edil Baisalov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. Edil Baisalov addressed the importance of the development of the creative economy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The official representative of UNDP Louise Chamberlain noted: “Create4 is also an opportunity to showcase the potential of the creative sector, an opportunity for the growth of the Kyrgyz Republic.” She also mentioned that the development of creative industries is essential for the growth of the local economy.
“It is encouraging that the festival is taking place at the university, because it is through education at universities that young people, the future holders of creative ideas, are fostered,”- noted the Vice President of Academic affairs Nurgul Ukueva.
In the second part of the festival, participants were able to attend sessions led by speakers from Central Asia. Among them, there were creative producers, entrepreneurs, artists and IT developers. Creative influencers shared their experience on the contribution into the development of the Central Asian creative industry.
Phenomenon Salem Social Media: “From an idea to million views”, “How to create content for Milliard views?”, “How to make “air” valuable?” and many more fascinating sessions were covered by guest speakers.
“First of all, I am very grateful for AUCA that they are providing such a cool platform for #create4, and in general the society of the Kyrgyz Republic is creative, this is our great hope, we have a lot of human capital, a lot of talented people who are shaping the creative digital culture,”- shared Curltai team.
The importance of developing the creative economy at the state level was reinforced by the signing of a decree “On measures to develop the creative economy and create conditions for the progressive development of the Kyrgyz Republic” by President Sadyr Zhaparov in April this year.
#CREATE4 is the first platform of this scale, where people of different ages, who are involved and interested in the creative industry gathered and took part in sessions and master classes led by creators from Central Asia.
“It warms my soul to realize how fast our country is developing. I am glad that this event is taking place in Kyrgyzstan. Only The Park of creative industries can be a guide to digitalization, which will come into our lives and cover all spheres. This is a very important step towards digitalization and support for small and medium-sized businesses,”- shared Syrga Tilekova CEO of NB FIT.
