On Friday, October 14th, the AUCA Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) in partnership with the public foundation "ЭкоМир- environmental monitoring and investigations" and with a support of the Kyrgyz-German-Swiss program “Green Economy and sustainable development of the private sector in the Kyrgyz Republic”, implemented by GIZ held the International Day of the Eco-activist, this day was very special to those who invested a piece of themselves in civic engagement and eco-activism. Since early morning, the AUCA forum has been filled with a photo and cartoon exhibition on the topic of environmental conservation and nature protection. The exhibition itself featured the works of three authors: Vlad Ushakov's photo exhibition “The Time of Kozhozhash”, eco-cartoons by Emil Shukurov, and cartoons on the theme of environmental conservation by Ruslan Valitov. It is unequivocal that art conveys the problem from different angles.
Meanwhile, the second part of the event was held at the Conference Hall (CH). The official part was divided into two sections, first was dedicated to welcoming speeches from respected quests who were deeply involved in eco-activism. Aijan Chynybaeva, the Member of the AUCA Board of Trustees and President of "Eco-Demi" Social Movement, stood up with a welcoming speech. at first, she greeted all gathered participants of the event and highly encouraged all to attend environmental activities. Chynybaev Aijan also mentioned that everyone is obliged to contribute to the preservation of nature and the environment to the best of their own possibilities.
Therefore, all the following hours were devoted to watching documentaries that were filmed and directed by local eco-activists, each film revealed the environmental problems faced by our country and also disclosed the causes of pollution. Afterward, participants and speakers had little time for close conversation and suggestions on the movement of eco-activism in Kyrgyzstan.
