Anthropology Department announces INTERNATIONAL ANTHROPOLOGY VIDEO CONTEST DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL ANTHROPOLOGY DAY - FEBRUARY 18.
Deadline: February 18, 2021
Participants: high school students from Central Asia and Afghanistan, as well as students of the NGA Program and Technical School of Innovation AUCA.
1st place - $100
2nd place - $50
3rd place - $20
The International Day of Anthropology is celebrated annually on the third Thursday of February. This year it is celebrated on February 18. In connection with this event, the Department of Anthropology, Technology and International Development of the American University of Central Asia is organizing an online video contest among the 11-12th grade high school students in Central Asia and Afghanistan. The aim of this competition is to expand information and knowledge about anthropology.
∙ Open to 11-12th grade high school students from Central Asia and Afghanistan;
∙ One video with a duration of 15-30 seconds (it is possible to use the tik tok platform) on one of the following topics:
o Cultural diversity through anthropology
o Anthropology and technology: perspectives on the future
o The role of anthropology in international development.
∙ Language: Russian or English;
∙ Videos should not contain violence, discrimination, or calls for bad actions;
∙ Upload your finished work to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #anthropologyday2021auca and tag us @auca_anthropology (Instagram) or Anthropology, Technology/Urbanism and International Development, AUCA (Facebook)
∙ Your social media account must be open!
A competent jury will determine the winners by March 1, 2021.
