AUCA undergraduate programs: Sociology

AUCA Sociology program offers comprehensive training in the field of sociology, including quantitative and qualitative research methods, it also provides an opportunity to apply for Master and Doctoral programs at universities abroad. Students participate in various scientific and practical research, annual scientific sociological conferences, and other social events. The faculty offers many courses on social inequality, family and gender, antisocial behavior, globalization and migration, economics, and politics.

Besides, the faculty trains students to work with such modern programs for processing statistical information as SPSS and MAXQDA, which makes the graduate competitive in the world labor market.

Most of our alumni are employed in leading international organizations in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, or continue their master and doctoral studies in Europe and America.

AUCA sociology graduates become research consultants to the international, governmental and non-governmental projects, such as UN agencies, Soros Foundation, World Bank, ICRC, OSCE, Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz National Parliament), the development of communities, monitoring and evaluation of activities of various institutions and projects, the analysis of the bills.
