We are pleased to announce that Elena Molchanova, Full Professor of the Psychology department (AUCA), MD and a Doctor of Clinical Sciences, has received the Ulysses Medal for Leadership in Refugee Health by UC Davis Health, School of Medicine.

She is being recognized as a visionary and transformative leader in the areas of Trauma Research and International Collaboration. Her psychiatric expertise of many years of trauma work in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, as well as her extraordinary support for the Veteran and Refugee Center (VIRTIS), have been extremely impactful for the refugee trauma research and clinical services in California.
"This achievement wouldn't be possible without the friendly and supportive environment existing at the Psychology department here," claims Elena Molchanova.
Dr. Molchanova joined AUCA in 2001 as the faculty member. She obtained a postgraduate degree in Psychiatry from Kyrgyz State Medical Academy and a degree of Doctor in Clinical Sciences from the Highest Attestation Committee of the Russian Federation. Elena has dozens of publications, clinical manuals, and books published in the field of Psychology and Psychiatry. She received many awards between 1990-2019. Dr. Molchanova is repeatedly being invited to the various International congresses and seminars as a plenary speaker
