The First Business Advisory Council meeting took place at the AUCA

The First Business Advisory Council meeting took place at the American University of Central Asia, jointly organized by Aijana Djumalieva (BAC Coordinator), and School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA).

As a follow up of the first meeting, SEBA has summarized some of the ideas that were discussed openly in the meeting. Several ideas and recommendations were suggested by all representatives. Every representative highlighted the importance of soft skills and so-called “human factor or element” in the business community and especially in managerial positions.

 

Mr . Paul J Murphy, General Manager of Hyatt Regency, Mr. T alant Omuraliev, Chief Retail Officer of KICB, Mr . Tilek Akhmatov, Commercial Director of Beeline Kyrgyzstan, and Mr. Norman Bobocel, HR Development Advisor in Kumtor Gold Company have expressed firmly the need for soft skills trainings,analytical and critical thinking skills for students in general and for their employees in particular. Ms. Zarina Chekirbaeva, Executive Director of American Chamber, Mr. Aziz Soltobaev , Owner of Svetofor, Mr. Edil Ajibaev, CEO & Owner of picVpic, Mr. Artur Khaldarov, Commercial Director of RCT broadcasting &telecommunications, and Mr. Askar Sydykov, Executive Director of International Business Council have mentioned that there is a lack of marketing specialists and, associated with hat, practical and analytical skills are in high demand in the market nowadays. The meeting took place in new AUCA Campus, which gathered General Managers, CEOs and Executive Directors from the leading companies of Kyrgyzstan such as Kumtor, KICB, Coca-Cola, Hyatt Regency, Beeline, RCT Broadcasting & Telecommunications, American Chamber, International Business council, picVpic, and Svetofor. The meeting was c haired by Mr. Edil Ajibaev, CEO & Owner of picVpic in Kyrgyzstan. It was very interactive and included two-way communication between academia and businesses, incorporating the exchange of valuable suggestions and ideas on ways to bridge the gap and improve collaboration between the two.
