Diversity festival “We are together”

From May 19th to 22nd in Osh and Jalal-Abad cities (Jalalabad State University, Osh State University), diversity festival "We are together" was held as part of the project "Festival of National Cultures" Diversity Week "organized by the American University of Central Asia with the support of the Regional Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Central Asia within the framework of the project "Unity in Diversity", UN Peacebuilding Fund.

During the festival cultural fairs were held involving about 10 ethno-cultural delegations in Jalalabad State University with a participation of about 400 people and 12 delegations of Osh State University with participation of about 700 people. As part of the fair a short presentations, the demonstration of folk customs and national dishes were held. The festival was closed with the concerts of AUCA theater "MIRRORS" involving dance and vocal groups of Jalalabad State University and Osh State University.

The festival was designed to promote the strengthening of tolerance, inter-ethnic and ethnic relations, respect for the traditions of national cultures, and improve the professional skills of team leaders. At the end of the Festival there were held a round table discussions with the future plans for the convergence of national cultures and peoples living in southern Kyrgyzstan, development of the Diversity Week with the participation of not only the students but also the representatives of the Assemblies.
