Altynay Kozubekova is the 3rd year student of AUCA and the winner of the US-CAEF scholarship, which gives the opportunity to study at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

This summer, Altynay visited a unique school, which brought together young leaders of the world in Berlin. Altynay Kozubekova became the best representative of both: American University in Central Asia, and of her country, Kyrgyzstan. The international school that Altynai attended was dedicated to the acute problems of modern society.

"The program is called the Berlin Summer School, which was funded by 3 organizations: Erasmus Plus, The European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and SCI Germany. This program opportunity I found through searching online in career services of AUCA. And hopefully I was accepted to this Berlin Summer School.

This summer school aimed to raise awareness about global and local issues related to the world, migration, active citizenship, human rights, development, education and volunteering. One of the reasons why I have been selected to this program is because of being engaged in volunteering activities during my school years and my years at university in my country.

Germany ... Visiting Germany, Europe has opened to me from a totally different side. It was like episodes from movies and beautiful images from the cards came to life and began to play with bright colors. So many wonderful events happened during these 3 weeks: I was in a new country; I saw so many beautiful places, felt the student life there, and met with bright and interesting people. Each cultural program was something new and exciting, and brought completely different emotions.

The most important thing on this trip was an invaluable experience in dealing with people; with completely different people; Interesting and kind. It's like studying the book of history.

The trip has changed me a lot, expanded my consciousness and perception of reality as a whole. You acquire a unique experience, which you would not gain if you are staying in the same place, no matter how rich is your fantasy, no matter what the quality of the video would be on the Internet or somewhere else, you have to live this experience, so that this becomes a part of your whole life. I became more independent; one might even say more mature. Even those curious cases, when you are get lost in a new city worked positively there.

I will not write long parting words for our students, just 2 advices: do not waste time on doubting and start to act!!! You can do it, because you are studying in the one of the best universities of Central Asia. Take the best from a variety of exciting moments and enjoy the special atmosphere of AUCA."
