Every year American University of Central Asia welcomes up to 40 new students from Afghanistan. The educational opportunity for international students, including citizens of Afghanistan is considerably increased by and international donors' support.
Donors annually provide AUCA Afghan applicants with merit-based scholarships, thus AUCA closely cooperates with US Embassy in Kabul, OSI Foundation and USAID organizations.
Nowadays, Afghan community is considered to be the largest international students' group at AUCA.
Scholarships
Scholarship opportunities for students from Afghanistan are announced annually in a period of March 1- April 30. The information about the scholarship are announced accordingly.
New Generation Program
Most students receiving Afghan Scholarships are required to attend preparatory New Generation Academy program. This program is aimed to improve students' knowledge, prepare them to admissions exams and help to adjust to the life in Bishkek and in University community.
Dormitory
Scholarship-recipients from Afghanistan are required to live their first year in International AUCA Dormitory. Experience of living in the gathering place like the Dormitory helps students to be involved to events and social life of AUCA, adjust to life in Bishkek and the demands of an AUCA education.
