Farewell Message from Max Georg Mayer, Head of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Central Asia

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With warmth in our hearts, we would like to reach out to all of you during this special time. After many years of working together, the time has come for us to say goodbye. As you may already know, I will retire at the end of this year, on December 31st. Reflecting on the journey we've shared, I find myself reminiscing about the moments we’ve experienced together.

I want to express my deep gratitude to each of you for your support and friendship. Over 22 years of work in Kyrgyzstan, we have come a long way. Scholarship recipients, graduates, teachers, experts, administrative staff, and leaders of partner organizations—each of you has made an invaluable contribution to our shared mission and achievements. Together, we have celebrated wonderful milestones like graduation ceremonies and supported each other during challenging times with mutual understanding and care.

Although I am stepping away from professional duties, my wife and I will forever cherish the memories of living and working in the beautiful land of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the connections we’ve built with our partners and the amazing people we’ve met.

We wish you all the best in your future professional endeavors, good health, and happiness for your families. We hope that our paths will cross again someday.

With our very best wishes,
Hulya and Max Georg Mayer
