Potential baseline projects: energy consumption, transportation, waste
Objective:
● Make our facilities and operations more environmentally sustainable by reducing and eventually eliminating or offsetting emissions of greenhouse gases, and dramatically reducing waste.
Scope:
● Current and future buildings, offices, dormitories, water, energy, waste/recycling, transportation, procurement, trees, vendors, partners
Proposed plan of work for the next 12 months:
● Take stock of all properties: size, description, people, condition, owner
● Establish baselines for selected sustainability metrics for future improvements (energy demand, renewable energy, waste, vehicles, air travel, paper use, drive-alone rate, etc.)
● Evaluate interconnections and trade-offs (e.g. more eco-friendly paper could increase wear and tear on printers)
● Assess the feasibility of developing an internal dashboard to track Key Process Indicators (KPIs)
● Work with Coffee Shop Vendors
● Sustainable Procurement Policy
