Starting from August 2014, American University of Central Asia and Kansai University have concluded a bilateral agreement on academic and professional inter-university partnership*. The collaboration between the two educational institutions opens opportunities for the students and faculty members of both schools to attend conferences, symposiums other events of academic nature taking place at both institutions.

Kansai University, one of the leading comprehensive universities in Japan, celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2011. Kansai University is a prestigious private university with 13 undergraduate and 12 graduate programs along with 3 professional graduate schools. There are over 30,000 students enrolled at the university including more than 600 international students.
Admission to Kansai University
Within the framework of current agreement, AUCA students can apply to Kansai University following two inter-university collaborative schemes:
a. Kansai University Japanese Language and Culture Course Program(JLC)
b. Kansai University Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC)
Please, note, when applying to either of these two programs, the student is entitled to meet all of the expenses of the program (visa, travel, accommodation, meal etc.) including the tuition fees. Also, please, note, JLC and IJLC are two separate programs with different tuition costs. JLC is the first program when you scroll down the page while IJLC is the second below.
AUCA students can apply to Kansai University through undergraduate student exchange program. When applying through this exchange, the student studies on a tuition-free basis. However, the student is responsible for his/her home university tuition fees as well as all the expenses related to the program (visa, travel, accommodation, meal, insurance etc.). Kansai University Exchange Program Information
Requiements:
1. You should be a full time sophomore or junior student at AUCA
2. You must be nominated by AUCA
3. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
4. Exchange students should be proficient in English to follow courses successfully and complete coursework (equivalent to minimum PBT TOEFL score 550).
Admission Deadlines
Admission to Kansai University is carried out each academic year at AUCA. Depending on the number of students participating in the exchange, the call for an exchange is announced either each semester (Spring and Fall) or once per academic year (Spring or Fall). All AUCA students are notified through their institutional emails of the call for applications. Furthermore, you can also obtain information about the opening of an exchange program through this website. The site will be updated each time before the call for application.
Application Process
All students, willing to apply for exchange programs, must do so through http://abroad.auca.kg/. The system will require students to login through AUCA account only. The recommendation letters are now must be filled in by AUCA professors only using a form within the electronic system. The AUCA students have to send a link to professors' AUCA emails, who will fill in a recommendation form for a student.

The application will require students to upload/complete the following documents by Sunday 5 PM on September 29, 2024. After the deadline, the system will be closed automatically, and students will not be able to complete the application.

Please, note, Academic semesters at Kansai University have slightly different time-frames (Spring semester: end of March-end of July. Fall semester: beginning of September - end of January). In case you spend an exchange at Kansai University, it’s your responsibility to agree with your respective course instructors that you might depart early/arrive late from/to your current courses you are enrolled or plan to enroll at AUCA.
