Paula is an M.A student in East European studies from the University in Amsterdam, Netherlands, conducting dissertation research on Russian development aid and its implications on Kyrgyzstan. She is originally from Finland, and she has previously received a B.A. in Russian and East European Studies from University of Helsinki and an M.A. in International relations from Leiden University. Paula’s main academic interests include Russian foreign and security policy in the post-Soviet space as well as domestic policies of Russia and the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
