University of Frankfurt (German: Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main) is a university located in Frankfurt, Germany. It was founded in 1914 as a citizens' university, which means it was founded and funded by the wealthy and active liberal citizenry of Frankfurt. The original name was Universität Frankfurt am Main. In 1932, the university's name was extended in honour of one of the most famous native sons of Frankfurt, the poet, philosopher and writer/dramatist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The university currently has around 45,000 students, distributed across four major campuses within the city.
Goethe University Frankfurt, positioned among the top international research universities, offers a wide variety of academic programmes, a diverse group of research institutes, and a focus on interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex problems. The university is named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the Frankfurt-born polymath renowned for his exceptional contributions to literature, science, and philosophy.
Please, note that only AUCA students of Anthropology and Social Studies Departments are eligible to apply for Goethe University. You need to be nominated by AUCA Study Abroad Committee before applying to Goethe University.
Since Autumn 20167 AUCA and Goethe University are on student exchange partnership that gives for both institutions to send up to 4 bachelor students and/or master students per semester or 2 per academic year to each side.
Requirements for the Exchange Program Applicants:
1. You should be a full time junior student at AUCA
2. You must be nominated by AUCA
3. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
4. Exchange students should be proficient in English to follow courses successfully and complete coursework (equivalent to minimum PBT TOEFL score 550).
Admission Deadlines
Admission to Goethe University is carried out each academic year at AUCA. Depending on the number of students participating in the exchange, the call for an exchange is announced either each semester (Spring and Fall) or once per academic year (Spring or Fall). All AUCA students are notified through their institutional emails of the call for applications. Furthermore, you can also obtain information about the opening of an exchange program through this website. The site will be updated each time before the call for application.
Application Process
All students, willing to apply for exchange programs, must do so through http://abroad.auca.kg/. The system will require students to login through AUCA account only. The recommendation letters are now must be filled in by AUCA professors only using a form within the electronic system. The AUCA students have to send a link to professors' AUCA emails, who will fill in a recommendation form for a student.

The application will require students to upload/complete the following documents by Sunday 5 PM on September 29, 2024. After the deadline, the system will be closed automatically, and students will not be able to complete the application.

Please, note, the student is responsible for all his/her expenses related to exchange semester at GoetherUniversity except for the tuition which is paid at AUCA.
